It wasn't exactly easy getting here, but I have arrived and already spent an amazing day on Maui.
Security was crazy in London and LA, it was a longlong trip, and also my flights got delayed - so I missed my flight, the last flight of the day, to Maui from Honolulu, bummers.
An angel at Hawaiian Airlines gave me a free flight that left at 9:40 in the morning, so I spent the night in a hotel close to the Honolulu Airport.
Best shower EVER.
This is the view that welcomed me this morning. All good. Might even get money back from travel-insurance, who knows.
So I hopped onto the shuttle and took my flight to Maui.
The first word used to discribe Maui in the Lonley Planet is:
Sigh.
I agree.
Sigh...
This is Gilbert. I am staying at his and Stani's place on Maui. So Gilbert picked me up and gave me a quick tour of the surroundings of Kihei.
I feel so welcome and lucky to be here.
This is the view from the roof-terass.

Yeah, I know, sigh.
And this is Brad Pitt Senior. He lives down the street.
And this would be Brad Pitt Senior's car.
Brad Pitt Senior gives personal trainings and smoke clinics.

So off to the beach, into the water, the vibe is so mellow and it is soothing. This could be the best place on earth right now:
the climate ideal... it is warm, not too hot with a light breeze, the ocean welcomed me with very gentle arms - yet exiting.
Later, I saw a turtle putting it's head out of the water to breathe. That head belonged to a BIG turtle : ))

In the first part of the book, the author tells us about four states of being : the snake (basics like food, sex, animal-instincts), the jaguar (mind-perception, reading, writing), the hummingbird (soul-level, music, art) and the eagle (spiritual state).
The part I am reading now is about becoming a true hero.
How we addapt into roles: parent, lover, sister, singer, victim, diva.. and that every role is but an illusion.
We play many different parts, trying to satisfy our heart, mind and ego.
And also the whole planet.
The shortcoming of the habbit: heart, mind, planet and ego can never ever be satisfied for a longer periode.
So the author claimes:
instead of struggeling with living up to all these characters we are trying to be, just drop them and: be.
Alberto insists that we are better people that way and that we can then follow the path of the hero.
Eventhough all that isn't exactly news to me, and probably not for you either, it is written in a way that makes it sink in somehow. Or also I am ready to let the old news in on a deeper level. When I left Amsterdam it geniually felt like I was leaving a lot of old Charllotte-stuff behind...
So here I am: sighing, hopefully dropping the act and 4 sure:
going with the flow.
Life is BLISS.
